The Benefits and Disadvantages Of Car/Auto & Vehicle Wrapping

Unbeknown to most of us, car/auto wrapping started way back in the 1950’s!
The only option that existed to the majority if they required a ‘new look’ was to respray their car.
Vehicle wrapping has come a very long way since those early years. During those years very few people had a vehicle far less, were able to afford one, especially here in the UK. Car & vehicle credit facilities, from banks and/or financial institutions were not widely available to Joe public. There were far less banks and not many other financial institutions in the UK in the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s too that would provide loans for purchasing of a car/vehicle back then.
Vehicle loans have now become part of a stable diet for most of us – rich or poor, today. More than 85% of new cars purchased & over 30% of used vehicles is financed by way of a car loan.
There were just under five million privately registered cars in the UK by 1960. In the US there were almost 62 million cars/autos in 1960 (figure doubled by 1995 & doubled again by 2012!). There are now over close to 32 million cars, over 4 million LGV’s, half a million HGV’s and over two million motor cycles, coaches, buses and other vehicles on UK roads now in 2021.
As more vehicles – makes/models appear on our roads with multiple options from the manufacturers, so has the car consumers appetite increased due to these options and more disposable income being available.
Vehicle wrapping has been used more so by companies/businesses with a fleet of cars or vehicles and marketing companies. For most if not all of these mentioned groups the benefits were and are now even more apparent and numerous.
A small business with a handful of vehicles, a mid size company with a fleet of cars/vehicles for their distributors and the sales person/team, executives & directors who need a vehicle to move around more easily and freely to carry out their different duties can all benefit from car and vehicle wrapping.
